Weekend Report #2

Sorry about missing Sunday but holy moly I was busy this weekend. I left the house early yesterday morning and didn't get home til late and man was I beat.

On Saturday, I had 2 sick kids. 3ft had pneumonia and Grumpbutt had a cold. So that pretty much sucked up my day except for doing laundry and baking Cinnamon Mini Coffee Cakes for my brother-in-law's birthday.

Saturday was also my sister's birthday which we celebrated on Sunday with a family get together. I made her Triple Chocolate Brownies which she assures me she loves as well as got her a hand mixer -- she's getting into cooking. I like having something in common with her again.

We went to Applebees for her birthday dinner so our mom could buy her a drink. She just turned 12 (although she keeps trying to say it's 21 but I refuse to believe I'm that old). I got the Oriental Chicken Salad with Grilled chicken and I ordered it with the dressing on the side. Well. I got dressing on the side alright along with it swimming in dressing. When I asked what happened with the dressing being on the side the waitress looked at me like I was stupid and said it's right there. So, apparently I was specific enough that I didn't want ANY dressing on my salad, I wanted to do it myself. I was too hungry and tired of fighting with the misunderstanding waitress that I just ate it. WAY. TOO. MUCH. DRESSING. C'est la vie. Next time I'll be more explicit I guess. Although I'm not sure how.

I also had a few bites of birthday cake. It was pretty delicious with butter cream frosting -- my favorite. So, aside from the salad dressing incident the day went pretty good. And it was nice to hang out with my sister and her boyfriend. I don't get to see them very often.

*drum roll* As to how much weight I lost last week. Well, I lost 1 pound. With Halloween candy around, the extra baking, the horrible weather, birthdays, and sick kids I'll take 1 pound. Could've been worse. Could've been no pounds or gained pounds -- so I'm a happy camper. I've lost nearly 55 lbs total.

The highlight of the weekend: my sister told me my jeans made my butt look great. And that I was getting so skinny. Have I mentioned how much I love my sister?

I DID IT!

I've lost 50 lbs. FIFTY! FIVE ZERO!

OH YEAH!

I'm officially lighter than I was when I got pregnant with Mr. Grumpybutt. I officially fit into all my prepregnancy clothes (although some are a little snug still), even my skinniest "skinny" jeans. I'm officially on cloud 9!

So, as promised here is a before and a couple after pictures the hubs took of me this morning.

Disneyland before 50lbs weight loss

size 28 shorts -- super tight around the middle; size 4x shirt

This morning after 50lbs.

size 18 pants -- a little give in the middle; size 2x shirt -- fits loosely

These pictures really make me notice the difference. Not only in my midsection which is seriously pronounced but also in my face. Gone is my double chin. I also have a collar bone. Who'd have thought?

I still have a ways to go. I'd like to lose at least another 50 to 60 lbs. I basically want to get into a size 12. My ultimate goal, aside from being healthy and in shape, is to be able to walk into ANY store (not children's -- smarty pants) but any adult clothing store and be able to buy anything right off the rack. No more "fat girl" specialty stores for me. No more ugly clothes because designers don't think overweight women want to wear cute clothes. No more baggy ill fitting clothes trying to disguise my rolls.

Can I get an AMEN?

Celebrate a huge moment with me with a delicious baked good toast! In honor of my milestone I'm doing another giveaway! 2 lucky people will win delicious baked goods of their choice from the list. I'll ship anywhere. Comment here or on facebook if you want to be entered.

Double Win! Woo-freaking-Hoo!

I made an awesome sauce last night to glaze chicken in. It turned out so good and I wasn't the only one who thought so. My husband got his plate and put a large dollop of barbecue sauce on next to his chicken for dipping. Then he didn't eat the barbecue sauce. Well, okay, he did but not on the chicken. When I gave him crap about being wasteful he ate it by the forkful all by itself AFTER the rest of his food was gone. Gross but it was a huge compliment.

The sauce was a hodge podge of (approximate values -- I just started throwing things together) 1/2 cup ketchup, 1/4 cup honey, 2 TBS apple cider vinegar, 1/4 cup brown sugar, TSP Dijon mustard, garlic salt, and pepper. I then broiled the chicken and glazed it with the sauce until it just charred a bit on the edges. It was absolutely delicious and worth the broiler pan being a pain in the butt to clean -- took me forever to scrub it all off.

I'm also super excited to report: I FIT INTO A PAIR OF MY "SKINNY JEANS"! For grins and giggles I tried them on. The last time I tried to put them on I could barely get them over my hips and there was no way on bob's green earth that they were going to zip up. I'm wearing them today. I didn't have to shimmy. I didn't have to lay on the bed to get the zipper up. I didn't even have to suck in my tummy. THEY FIT!!! I think the hundreds of crunches I've been doing have totally rocked it to get me into these pants. I couldn't be happier.

Tomorrow is weigh and measure day. I'm expecting good news.
